In my opinion, Chicago is one of the greatest cities in the US - AND the greatest food town in America. I worked on a show in Chicago and lived there for 3 months. It was during the holiday season and loved it! So as a thank you to the city and the people who make it so great, I wrote a song about my kind of town. If all goes right in the world, perhaps I will get another chance to live there for a bit. And if you haven’t visited Chicago, you must put it on your to-do list. Happy holidays everywhere one, wherever you may live!

It’s Christmas time!! And time to share the 2 Christmas songs I’ve written (so far). On This Christmas Night is for those moments of quiet during the holiday season when you’re reflecting on all that’s happened and all those folks we have had the pleasure to spend time with - whether they are still with and especially if they aren’t. Missing our dear ones during this season is a painful experience but we have to remember them! So here’s to great things for everyone - no matter how you celebrate.

New music!! You might be able to there from here but be careful! This fun, upbeat dance track featuring a killer ethnic flute part and a great female vocal. Available everywhere records are NOT sold.

TIME TO CHILL A BIT! New music that could be the perfect accompaniment to help you get through a long work day. Motivating but not enough to make you want to pour that second cocktail. Relaxing but not enough to put you to sleep.

New music! And it’s also old! From my remixer days in the 1990s. A musical statement that’s as true now and it was then. The world can do better. Let’s make it happen.

Let’s go back in time to the 1990s! My remixer days in Hindi. It’s a fun upbeat track ready for the dance floor and some badass choreo. And don’t ask - I have no idea what the singers are singing.

OUT NOW! On all streaming platforms TV THEMES BY SCOOTER Vol 1. I’ve written more than 100 themes to TV shows and here is the first batch of 25. I’ve prepped the next 3 volumes and they’ll be coming out every few months. The video above is the theme to LAPD: Life On The Beat. It’s the first big show I got and I have to thank producers Andrew Jebb and Dave Bell for giving me the break. Check out some cool themes on here!

My latest single! Featuring vocals by Katie Hampton. Portuguese lyrics by Kátia Moreas. Recorded with top Brazilian musicians. 2024 - let’s bring back the Bossa Nova!!! Available on all streaming platforms.

Remember the classic Antonio Carlos Jobim song “One Note Samba?” Well, Scooter’s new song is twice as good. It has 2 notes! Featuring vocals by Katie Hampton (lead singer for Sergio Mendes) and Portuguese lyrics by Kátia Moraes, we’re kicking off 2024 by dancing. The best of the best of LA based Brazilian musicians are featured - all to be named shortly. Available on all streaming platforms

Now available in digital and print formats on Amazon! Vol 1 of plays by Scooter. 3 very different and very entertaining full length plays for the theater. Featuring: One Night Standoff, mid-century modern & Ringxiety.

One Night Standoff: Ray and Melissa are sent away for the weekend by their therapist with instructions on how to save their marriage. They actually seem to be re-learning how to get along when they are awakened by strange noises. As the noise continues, they are convinced someone is trying to break in. While fearing for their lives, they continue to navigate their marital problems, slinging innuendos, lies, and painful truths at each other, as they make a stand not only for themselves and their marriage, but also against the unknown.

mid-century modern: Taking place over four years, 5 siblings struggle to maintain some sort of individuality during life’s biggest moments; birth, marriage, and death. And they learn some life lessons along the way; 1) Being related doesn’t mean that you can even remotely relate to each other, 2) Being raised by the same parents in the same house doesn’t mean you get along, and 3) Being the “golden child” comes with its own issues and pressures. mid-century modern examines what it’s like to find yourself when you are surrounded, and sometimes smothered, by those who “love” you.

Ringxiety: “We’re living in the freaky Sci-Fi part of humanity right now and I think the ending is still up for grabs.” Technology has given us the ability to communicate 24/7/365. And we know more about each other than ever before. But is that a good thing? Does overcommunicating rob us of the last bit of individual freedom left in the world? And is it possible to have a meaningful relationship with someone who isn’t human?

So what happens after you read these plays and love them? Contact us and we will license them for production.

Opening tomorrow May 19, 2023! I wrote and played about 10 mins of piano music in the film. I loved working on this. Amazing performances by Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott and stellar direction by Zach Wigon. AND! I got to work with legendary music editor Jonathan Schultz. This thing is really good. Fantastic review in The New York Times. Go see it!!!

Thinking of the impossible. Pursuing things that challenge us. Attempting the absurd. Choosing your own path. Impossible Colors are colors the human eye cannot see, but our brains can imagine. Available on all streaming platforms.

3 productions of my play WINDFALL - with short reviews. The licensing deal for the play is pending, contact me here if you are interested in doing a production of it.

WHAT?????? IS THAT A NEW NOVEL BY SCOOTER????? YES! If you love summer beach reads, murder mysteries, snarky tales of HOLLYWOOD and peeking behind the curtain and seeing the devious things that those who make movies and TV shows get up to - This book is for YOU! Here’s the BLURB!

IT’S HOLLYWOOD AND ACTORS ARE KILLING EACH OTHER!

TV superstar Hal Canova is in a very bad place. He can no longer find work as an actor, he’s about to lose his fabulous house, and he’s almost out of gin. This predicament forces him to open a detective agency named after his hit TV show, HollowPoint! But as soon as the press release breaks, he’s thrown into the middle of the biggest celebrity murder since OJ. A young actress has been murdered and the prime suspect is world-famous action movie star Tom Raft. Sure, Hal brilliantly played a detective on TV, but without several rehearsals and a tight script, can he defeat the evil that lies under all that plastic surgery and find the true killer? Can he succeed in a senseless world that doesn’t value dimpled chins and jawlines? And does anyone ever really survive “Hollywood?”

Baby I'd Love Another Graphic 1-2 JPG M.jpg

“Baby, I’d Love Another” slides comfortably into the rich history of sexy, provocative pop songs such as “Je t’Aime” by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, “Pillow Talk” by Sylvia and “Love To Love You Baby” by Donna Summer (among many others). Featuring the seductive and alluring whispery-talk of Jessica New (of Sweet 17 fame) and the sultry and sensual vocalizing of Windy Wagner (top-tier session singer and backup singer to the stars), this song is guaranteed to aurally please. So slip into something a little more… comfortable and enjoy the ride. Original artwork by world-famous Playboy cartoonist Doug Sneyd. Ed Martel: keyboards. Don Markese: Saxophones. Everything else including more keyboards: Scooter. Written, Arranged & Produced by Scooter. Mastered by Bob Rice. Available on ALL streaming services.

NEW YORK READING OF MY NEW PLAY THE COCKTAIL PARTY EFFECT

Producer John Yonover (Revonoy Productions) is presenting a private industry reading of a new comedy, The Cocktail Party Effect by Scooter Pietsch, on Friday April 8 at 2 PM in the Anne L. Bernstein Theater at The Theater Center at 210 West 50th Street in New York.

The play tells the story of three married couples who gather to celebrate their 10th New Year’s Eve together. They originally met at the private school their kids attended and have celebrated all the milestones of childrearing as a group. Tonight, however, marks a new phase of life for them as their kids have gone off to college leaving them empty nesters. How the couples handle being alone together, after being distracted from their marriages while raising a family, sets the stage for brutally honest (and hilarious) evaluations, self-reflections and dramatic resolutions.

The Cocktail Party Effect takes a look at what happens to us all after we’re “fired” from the greatest job we’ve ever had… raising our children.
